Arrival Of New Telescope & First Picture With It

Earlier this month I took delivery of a my new Sky Watcher 200p 8" Dobsonian. Really happy with the purchase, it wasn't what I had planned on buying originally but with everything going on at the moment, the stock levels of other scopes have been very low. Some suggestions that stock may not be around for around a few weeks up to a couple of month - right during prime scope buying period.

Originally I had planned to buy a Sky Watcher Explorer 200p with an EQ mount - hoped this would help with the astro-photography but as I was really struggling to find stock, even in the used market, I opted to take a look at Facebook market place. Fortunately, there was the 'dob' not so far away for a reasonable price.

Not the best picture I've ever taken but it's something I'm hoping to work on.

I’ve been involved in Astronomy for a number of years now but still consider myself somewhat of a newbie.

Recently I bought a new 8″ Sky-Watcher Dobsonian, with Winter and the dark nights it brings well on it’s way in the UK now I’m really looking forward to getting out there and spending some time under the stars (and let’s be honest, the clouds).

The aim of this site it to document what I see and to share pictures that I take. Granted, not all are going to be great but over time I hope to be able to show that I’ve learnt along the way and we should all hopefully see the improvement 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.
